Weekend and a start of a trying week

The weekend was good when I finally got moving in a forward destination. My plane was delayed 3 1/2 hours on Friday which led to a dinner cancellation and one very tired and worn out girl upon arrival. Luckily we found Chili's open and had a quick bite to eat at 11:30 pm, I was exhausted. I slept in on Saturday morning as we were only venturing down to Fort Worth for the day, so it was a lazy get ready when I feel like moving type of day. We had fun, although a huge thunderstorm came rolling in while we were there. That night we were able to get our dinner in and it was delicious!!!

Also, I got a chance to go to a new grocery store, Central Market. Oh how I wish there were some of these up here! I was like a kid in a candy store in there, it was absolutely amazing. I can't wait for my next trip down to visit again!!

Came home on time but to be awoken early in the morning on Monday with a mind bending migraine. I believe this is my third that has required me out of work for a day so the next one will require a call to the doctor for a med check on that one. Back to work today and a not so friendly visit to court to followup on my petition for full custody, it was a good news/bad news type of day. Good news - custody awarded Bad news - all back child support owed was dropped FOREVER! I knew not to count on it but geez.

So the ex came up for this grand event, he agreed in front of the judge to relinquish all rights, what type of person does this and the better question at this point is how could I have ever been married to this type of person. It makes me sad to realize that I never really knew what he was capable of. Amazingly so, it's a relief to be rid of him once and for all.....so another emotional trying day and a new beginning again for me.

I absolutely LOVE Central Market...
A place we don't have here that I wish we had is Trader Joe's.. I've heard so much about that place, but none near us! :(

We have Trader Joe's and it's nice but not as nice as the Central Market!! TJ is based out of the NE and is making their way down and across but it might take a while.....You can shop TJ online too :)

Glad you're back - though it doesn't sound like you're glad.. he he. (I'm just getting caught up on my blog reading... writing is next)

Ironically, I had a child support hearing on the same day as your custody hearing. I, too, can relate to "not knowing he was such an ass". I'm even more disappointed in our Child support system.

My ex has worked for maybe one year out of the last 9. He is in arrears of an excess of 9 thousand. The hearing was a contempt hearing - previously he had been threatened with jail, and forced to pay money at these contempt hearings. I was shocked by the outcome of this one......

The judge ordered him "to relentlessly persue a job search". He instructed the deadbeat dad to apply to 20 jobs a week, including fast food and convenience stores (which he thinks he is above) and keep a log of his search. No mention of paying money, no mention of her medical bills nor daycare expenses.

He's not going to do this. He's supposed to revisit the judge in August - with his job search log in hand.

I know whats going to happen - he'll scribble something down on paper that morning.... and his arrears will continue to grow.

The part that pisses me off ... is that he had brand new shoes on (at the hearing) and I've heard that he frequents his local bar everynight. So, he has money for new clothes, and a good time... but none for my daughter - yet, he wants to have her EVERY weekend?

Breathe.... I'm glad that you are free........ Thanks for giving me an outlet to vent!!!

I'm glad I was here to help you let it out, I know that my ex is a jerk and I'm sure there are many more out there like him, but I would never trade in our child because he is an huge JERKO!! Another step in the healing of me and the freedom I so needed!!! It's amazing what they can afford but never in the means of supporting their own child(ren)....
