We made it back from the beach in one piece. Yes, after work on Saturday night we drove down, dog, boy and me. Was looking forward to a nice day off on Sunday spent with some family and friends, and that is what I got. Not too long after I got down there I was out like a light, this is what happens when I work outside in the hot, sun from 9 to 6..lol I did manage to wake up in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday and post that...while watching the Notebook one more time!! I never get sick of that movie.
I was awoken at 7am, by a text message from a friend, he is a good guy and always has my back. I am lucky to have him in my life. So after we actually talked on the phone a bit, I got up and started getting the food ready with mom for the day. We spent the better part of Sunday outside on the bay, brought blankets, grills, tons of food and drinks and the jetskis and enjoyed the day. We actually had the dog on the jetski and mom took pictures. She said his tail was wagging the whole time!! silly doggie!! We all got alot of sun, had a great day with friends and family and those who we met there. I went back to mom's place took a nap and headed up last night because this a.m. they were calling for heavy rains and I didn't feel like making the trip up in the rain :(
So here we are! Monday, it's late afternoon and I am pumped and ready for this week. Work tonight, then off there til Thursday!! I actually will get some pool time in on Tues and Wed after work, gotta clean up my stuff and get some laundry done but other than that it's going to be a great week. Got a suprise at work and someone came to take me to lunch it ended up being a picnic lunch, with greek salad and grilled chicken, even remembered the blanket and it was a nice time! Suprises are nice, especially when I never expect them!
tootles for now....
Almost six years ago I set out on a journey to become a healthier, happier individual and mother. Today, I am that person. My life has changed in many ways, shapes and forms over this time period.....and this is a just a tiny piece of all of that. Come with me as I have entered into my new life and all the ups and downs since have WLS in November 2006.

When you thought things were getting better............
Just when I thought things could possibly get better in our living situation the girl I live with flipped a lid. Seriously, she is so high strung and she barges in on you when your door is closed. She asked me why my son locks his room and I told her this, she claimed she never barges in so I called him down and when confronted once again, she neither confirmed nor denied. I really can't wait to be out of here, it's not a healthy place. Her niece has already left, to live with her father in Germany because of the treatment she received. It's just horrible.
So today is a new day, deep breath and let's get it rolling. It's beautiful, cool and sunny outside for now, but alas by the end of the day it will be rainy. Tonight is a work night so I will be back later.
Hoping for an uneventful day.

Ok....let's try a new approach
I have found that I need a forum to write. Whether it be a vent, or an update or just nothing much about nothing. So here I am, almost what a year, year and a half later. My blog still gets alot of traffic, so I hope that those of you out there reading are finding some very informative things.
Me, my life is in a current state of limbo right now. We sold the house last year, moved out in August and I have yet to find a suitable place to call our new home. We are currently staying with a friend (let me tell you, you really don't know someone until you live with them!! lol) and let's say times are trying at some points, but we are managing and surviving. I did put a bid in this week on a new place, so fingers crossed someone else isn't going to snatch it out from under me!! I have spent most of my waking hours either working the day job, or working the night job (which is new since I have left here) or looking for a place to move, or just sleeping and surviving. Living without your things, well let's just say this, It Sucks!! I have some items, but overall I feel uncomfortable and in the last two months have been made to feel very unwelcome here all the time. The solace is that I have all I need in my living area, which is very private and that is a plus!!
So, more about what is going on....let's see I have dated a few guys, absolutely nothing serious as I have no "real" time to devote to any type of relationship, however, I did meet a guy who I work with at job 2 and we hit it off. He is actually leaving the company soon, so maybe in the future there may be some dating again..lol I have one golden rule, I never, ever date anyone I work with, irregardless of the situation. Anyhow, other than that life has been pretty uneventful. Son #2 has now completed 10th grade, so two more years and he will be done school. Son #1 has become somewhat of a disappointment as he has moved to Nebraska with his father and has decided not to attend college, yet again. There have been some serious health issues with a few of us family members this year, me included. Found out I am allergic to almost everything under the sun, hence the chronic sinus infections I had been getting the last few years. I am now on a regulated dose of meds to help curb it, and so far, knock on wood it is working!!
I also managed another milestone of turning 47 last month! My family is having a family reunion next month, which I am very excited for....I am maintaining still, and this November is five years out!!
Enough for tonight, I want to get some thoughts together. Promises that I will not disappear into thin air again, as this is always a good forum for me to put things out there and help myself.

Best laid plans turn to mush......
So Thursday night I am getting ready to walk out the door to M's but first have to take ds2 to mom's. He's outside skateboarding, doing all those fancy tricks he sees on tv, videos, whatever...next thing I hear is this blood curdling scream, it literally made my blood run cold. I run out the back door and there he is lying 1/2 on the sidewalk, 1/2 in the street, but the thing that worried me the most was the bone protruding from his ankle. There is no way I can get him up and in the car and of course I didn't want him to realize what had happened, he was just laying there sobbing. So I told him to just stay put, DO NOT MOVE and keep your head down, I need to get something. I ran into the house and called 911 for an ambulance and then M to let him know what is going on. Well, M said call back 911 and cancel that (no need for that bill) and he came over and got ds2 in the truck and off to the hospital we went. After hours of what seemed like waiting, but really it was xrays and whatnot, they decided to stabilize him and get some of the swelling down before they have to go in and put in pins and whatnot...poor baby, now for him the summer is done. He's right now home with me and mom, we headed up to mom's because I can't lift him by myself and my oldest is working all weekend. So yesterday was a chore, it was hard to get him to the bathroom and such.....anyhow long story short, tomorrow we go home, I'm tired, but Mom and T are at the house today, so mom and M decided to get me out of the house. They agreed yesterday and M, me and two friends are headed down the shore for the day. I don't always get along w/my mom but she suprised me this time and for that I am grateful! So, I will be leaving shortly to scoot down to M's and off we go, I hope it's a good day, but at least ds2 is in good hands today and I will get one beach day in. Unfortunately, also this was our weekend at the beach with the gf's and of course I had to cancel that :(
So, I need to find something to wear, and get my hair done and off I go.....
Oh and the sun is out, finally! After a 94 degree day yesterday I would say summer has hit us hard, thank goodness for mom's pool yesterday too, as ds2 and I were able to spend a lot of time outside of course him in the shade but it was better than being cooped up in the house all day watching tv. Poor boy :(

At the end of an emotional weekend.....
He finally got in late Saturday night, we had a great night and I was off on Sunday to do my planned day of seeing dad and visiting my grandma's grave.
Sat night was wonderful, simply wonderful.....
Sunday, not so wonderful. When we pulled up in front of the house and I saw weeds as tall as 3' out front I knew something was wrong. When we walked into the house I knew it, something was definitely wrong. The once normally model fit home was messy, things were everywhere and I didn't know what was going on. Then the first look at my father and I was shocked, he's lost a tremendous amount of weight in a short amount of time and was looking haggard and worn. Evidently the gf has had quite a few surgeries in less than a month and well it has forced his hand into being primary caregiver. He cannot get through the day and get everything done, but for his own health's sake I hope he takes days off here and there or he will never make it through the next 8 months of recovery. Then onto grandma's grave, 1 year has passed since she passed and well it was an emotional reunion. My father and my grandma have always been the two important people in my life, they have always loved me unconditionally and well I miss one and the other broke my heart to see how his life had turned. Of course these emotions spilled over into my own relationship and well it didn't go so well Sunday night and Monday morning, we were able to talk through it, but there is that thing, the underlying emotion that I have experienced and the fact that it had to turn into what it did, so where does that leave me, I have no clue.
Today, Tuesday is a new day to start fresh again....I want to have a very positive day! and the end of the week is girls weekend at the beach! YEAH!!!

Friday and still counting....
I wish it were next Friday, but alas I still a little over a week to go. I did not get much done yesterday, so if I go to the beach, it will be for the day. I have alot to do here at home, but this weather is not cooperating with me. I still am feeling pretty icky with this cold. None stop sneezing and the cough. I hate allergies! They seem to exasperate the whole cold.
Had a great date last night, and I am truly grateful for him working all this out so we can talk/see each other live every other night. And for being such a dear as to move it up (time zone difference) since I have not been feeling well.
Today, back at work. blah I have not been in a working mood, although I am getting quite a bit done at work. I'm glad it's the weekend and I need some down time. Some rest to shake this cold once and for all.
The boy is enjoying his first full week of summer vacation. Unfortunately his gf's step mom is making it very hard on them both to see each other. Some people I just never get, there is nothing wrong with them hanging out, and they are kids the should be able to enjoy themselves. His other friends have pretty much been here non stop, I love the house full of kids, but sometimes too I need a break.
The older boy is missing his gf too! She is overseas visiting her dad, home July 10th, so his eye is on the prize and he has quite a bit longer than me to wait. I have enjoyed his company at home lately though :) He also wants to get back into school full time at U of De. I hope he can figure out a way to do this, but then I will have to buy his car from him. I am glad I didn't go out and buy my own, because then it wouldn't happen, of course his is a nice little car, so I don't mind.
Exercise, I have all but given up on it the past few days, I have had no energy to put forth any effort. Hopefully soon, when I start feeling a wee bit better.
The weekend is here! enjoy

It's Saturday
Today I think turned out alot better than the weather people led us to believe. I got the grass cut, some weeding and other yard work done. Pedicure after, and I felt lovely!! The gym sent out their summer bulletin and YEAH the pool opens Sat for the summer season (sorry my Aussie friends :( ) anyhow, I know I will get alot of swimming in this summer. I got my yoga done, wash is almost done, and I feel well accomplished today!! that is a good thing!
Tomorrow we are off, the second sons first concert! I'm excited to take him to it and his gf. We will see the following bands, ZZTop, Saliva, Unloaded, Puddle of Mudd, Offspring, Hailstorm ( a local band) and Papa Roach. For a first concert it should be a mind blowing event for the youngster, of course I'm only interested in really only two of the bands!!! lol
I am glad I will be able to share this with him. When I was thinking back about my first concert, my dad took me to see Aerosmith, 78, awesome and yes I was the same age as my youngest...so that is cool!!!
Anyhow, my weekend is going along perfectly a nice night for some fun with family (my oldest is home for the next six weeks or so) and friends...which I will be meeting out later tonight for some dancing and fun!!! I hope you all are having a great weekend!

Beautiful Sunday
I had a nice Sunday, slept in (in fact did both Sat and Sun) which is unprecedented for me, I guess I am learning to relax and enjoy again. Of course the late nights helped too :)
Had a nice Mother's Day, the youngest cooked dinner, got me a beautiful hanging basket and we just spent a quiet day at home. I was given a memories rosebush also which I transplanted later in the day and spread some mulch. Overall not a stressful day at all. The oldest came home bearing a card (cute) and sunburn (ouch). He informed me the gifts come tonight. He is also taking us to see the new Star Trek movie tonight also!
Am trying to plan another adventure to NYC for the end of the month. The list of things to do and see is longer than the time we have alloted so I had to send an email and ask which is a must do for this trip and what can wait until another time! lol Hopefully enough can be striked and still be ok for this time....
Off to get ready to go to work, back to the grind so to speak.....

10 days
The good lord is testing my ability to hold it together right about now, 10 days and another winter storm on our horizon. I had a dream last night that my flight was cancelled leaving to go because of ice!! GAH....If I don't have a nervous breakdown before I get there well then there will be alot of celebrating once I am there!! lol
I am ready to go, I had my date Saturday night, it was wonderful. How is it I always manage to meet a man, someone whom I want to spend time with when I'm on my way out the door or busy doing something else with my life. That is where we are. He is wonderful. Plain and simple. I laughed so much and had the best time it's scary. Really. I've probably said that before, I could probably go back in this blog, in the archives and find this exact statement about a few men I dated last year, but truly no one compares. This is not a rebellion of divorce, the other man, the one I thought would be right, or the hot one. This is a guy, someone whom I already knew. Someone who I reconnnected with accidently but on purpose I think. Someone who I enjoy spending hours with and when he leaves I can't wait to see him again. Someone who brought me flowers on our second date and they happen to be my favorite flower. Someone who listens to me, helps me and wants to be with me. Someone who I care about. Sure it's weird, he was my old neighbor but that was a lifetime ago to me. The trouble that was my marriage was already established. We had both made sure we kept our distance, although neither of us knew the other was doing that, we were attracted but I was married and he wasn't. There was the vow I made the reality that I was married and I wasn't cheating. I still can't believe neither of us picked up on the fact that we were BOTH attracted to one another it was not a one sided thing. strange..
Anyhow, that is not what this is about...this is about me, right now. I have "dieted" although I hate that word very well the last week, turned all those bad carbs I had been consuming into a thing of my past. I have lost a few pounds, toned up, doing my yoga, feel the peace..lol I am grounded, although frantic about having us both ready to leave next Wednesday morning early in the morning....I am crazy with the realization that I am sailing soon and it can't be soon enough!!
Oh and the kicker I speak at the WLS support group the night before, like I am going to have time to fit that in?? Well it will all work out, I will stop stressing and just go with it, that is what it's all about right...going with the flow called life????

Thank you
Yes I like the black lacy dress too...in fact after looking at the pictures I found it to be very flattering and the other, well not so much :)
I am less than two weeks to leave!! yeah!!! With this freezing rain and icy conditions of yesterday I am so ready for some sun and warm....
I did manage to get to the grocery and stock up on fruits and veggies and some good whole grains. I have been out for a day and boy does it matter. Thank goodness our local convenience store carries all that for a quick stop and fill up yesterday just to get through the day.
So I said a few blogs back that I have been talking with my old neighbor. Strange to me how things work out in life sometimes. Well anyhow, he is coming over for dinner and a movie Sat. night. We've been talking almost everyday, it's weird how this happens in life but it's been nice. I am looking forward to spending some time with him. Sunday is Super Bowl, I am really looking forward to this, but alas I will go into football withdraw when it's over. Sad, I know, probably remind you of some husbads or boyfriends out there I'm sure, but it's my thing. The next time any serious football, the draft. I'm truly a fan..lol
Other than that just laying low and ready for the vacation. My son is excited to as he will be going away to but in a different direction on a school trip...

Hump Day
The funeral was beautiful, one of the old friends of all my grandparents, their sisters, brothers and other friends sang..She is 94 and still sings like a bird it was beautiful. We stopped by my grandparents grave after the graveside service, it was nice to see them again! Then off for light refreshments. So we get into the CC and there was stuffed shells, roasted turkey, roast beef, rice, veggies...um where are the light refreshments. No wonder the US of A is obese, we call a full blown dinner menu light refreshments!! HA....I saw more cousins that were unable to come up for my grandmother's funeral, they didn't know me either!
Work was a day of catchup yesterday....amazingly it went smooth and easy! I'm glad because I was still tired and not really up for the challenges sometimes the job can bring!
Last night I was talking with my guy (he really needs a name, but anyhow) he has informed me now I am meeting his family sat night at a dinner. Ok, shock and well now I know, we are definitely moving on to the next step here. It's been 2 1/2 months, I've been on the fence but will not baby him like past gf's and whatnot, so I guess the tough love is keeping him around, or maybe it's just me :) LOL Now I'm nervous and of course I was going to spend Friday night and Sat preparing for christmas with shopping! OY when will I get done, well I have Friday night still and Sat up until around 1pm....good lord I hope I get enough done Friday night!
The ex is home, been home almost a week now, he leaves Sat I believe is what I am told....I could care less, there is virtually no communication with him at all...which is good, he is learning I'm over it, he needed toget over it too!
So now I must get ready....the rain is here, thank god because I was thinking it would be icy this a.m. but it's not yeah!!!

Funeral day
I've had two funerals this year. Both from my mom's side of the family. Not the way I want to spend my Monday, but alas it's here. I love the aspect of getting to see family whom I don't normally get to see regularly but do not love the whole funeral thing. I like to remember someone when they were living, a happy moment or cherished memory with them. A former co-worker who has cancer (it's riddled through her body) son called us at work last week, hospice has been called in...the verdict, less than two weeks. Well two weeks would be christmas day. This particularly wonderful woman is a tough lady, a real fighter who has been fighting, bone, breast and lung cancer and now it's in her brain! Sometimes I don't understand the reasons behind why some get and some don't.
Yesterday was a full and fabulous day. My oldest son spent the whole day with us, he took us to see The Day the Earth Stood Still, alot better than the trailers and I really enjoyed the movie! Then out to lunch and a little shopping at the mall. I bought him black dress pants, black shirt and red tie, he is taking his gf out to dinner for Christmas. I think he is a very special person, very sweet and considerate and a true romantic...she is one lucky girl. He bought her a beautiful bracelet and necklace yesterday too, silver with tiny heart pendant and also the heart pendant on the bracelet too. It's beautiful, she will love it!
Last night I met up with some friends to enjoy some football, end of a great Ravens/Pittsburgh game and the beginning of the Giants/Dallas game. Tonight is Eagles....lots of great things going on in life!!

What a trying day
I am still hurting...my side especially. The wrist seems ok but the side..owie still
I am sure to have black and blue marks soon, a couple of shots of Jack tonight and all will be well! lol I can't worry about this, but damn I wish I were in my honey's house right now soaking in his whirlpool tub!!
So we are trying to create a great Christmas scene at home...I found this...

but we ended up with this....

and this....

and I am very pleased with it all.
I can't wait to finish Christmas shopping, of course like all those who are waiting for the last minute, yes I will be joining you once again this year as I just worked out the finances to allow me to shop next weekend...so yes, Virginia (or shall I say David and Nick) there is a Santa Claus!!
I am listening to Tori Amos - Winter, it's freezing here. I am enjoying this weekend once again...oh on a side note, one of my friends from TX invited me to join them in Vegas this weekend at the Hard Rock...geez why couldn't they have told me a week in advance...I would have loved to visit Vegas...never been but I am going to get there sooner or later...I hope sooner!!
So off to enjoy this weekend, pains and aches and all!

Clumsy me
Last night I was trying to unload the car and slipped and fell hard on the driveway! OUCH, I hit my right side, wrist is swollen up really bad, the whole right side of my torso (ribs area) and my right knee (yes, the bad one). Last night I iced the wrist and put heat on my torso. After a turbulent night of sleep I am even more sore this a.m. Of course I knew this was going to happen, but I'm going to whine because it hurts!!
So all the plans for the weekend, in limbo right now. I have a friend in VA asked me to visit for the weekend, I don't think I could drive that far at this point!
My great aunt passed on Tuesday evening, she was a tough old lady, my grandfather's sister and another instance of longevity in my family, she was 94 years old. I believe her sister, still living is going to be 97 in March. Monday is the service and the family is starting to arrive tonight. So I have a busy weekend anyhow, just not sure how well I will be able to function.
The rain has finally stopped. The lord rained down on us yesterday and last in torrents, much needed I'm sure but very hard to drive and navigate around yesterday.
Ok, my wrist is hurting so I'm going to have to cut this short.....more later

Christmas is here....
at my home...I'm fully decorated inside and somewhat outside. It snowed yesterday so that put a small change of plans on the outside, but I'm going to fight the wind and cold later today and get it done! I feel good and it's pretty...later I will take pics! I love christmas and am truly getting in the spirit of it this year. I think I did the whole christmas for my children last year but wasn't into it as much as previous and current year!
So did I say it's was cold...brrr this a.m. 14 chilly degrees. I had to dig out the heavy duty pj's. These are the mornings when I miss a warm body in bed to cozy up with!! Someday when it's right it will be back in my life!
Weight loss, I am doing great. Back to exercising, yoga mainly and I'm losing those inches and have dropped about 5 lbs in the last month. I went to my two year checkup the only big problem is the blood pressure is back up. Even with the exercise and weight loss so I had to go back on my meds for that. It is very severe in my family so I actually expected to once things leveled out for me. I've lost and kept off 126 lb since I had my surgery 11/20/06. I felt very accomplished and feel and look great! I need some new pics of me too! I still have a hard time believing that I used to be a 22-24 and now am a size 6 on most good days! lol it's the best feeling in the world. And the reward is that I have learned to use the tool and apply it in my everyday life now. I can fluctuate up and down within a reasonable rate and I'm not a scale whore like when I first had the surgery. I can tell by clothes and immediately correct or modify something to keep myself in check. I was reading back about my earlier experiences and sometimes even that is a distant memory although it was only two years earlier. It's really a medical miracle for me!
Yesterday I went shopping with my sister, scouting out some possibilities of gifts and other things. Picked up a few necessities and tried on tons of fabulous clothes. We have this little shop near us called Tiger Lily, it's owned by a former Miss Delaware, it's ecletic and girly and fun and they have the most amazing things in there from bags to shoes to accessories and clothes! I would love to have a PT job there and be surrounded everyday by the goodies!
Today is a tournament and football, I'm cleaning and almost done the wash and we are just going to relax later! Thinking about some gingerbread......and I do need get to grocery store at some point! Enjoying the rest of the weekend, back later with some pics!

Back to the grind
While most people either didn't go to bed last night or just simply got up at some ungodly hour this a.m. to start black friday shopping, me I was snuggled in my bed all comfy and cozy!! Why??? Do I hate black friday shopping, nah, I think in all my parenting years I went once, it was fun, but the real reason? I work today! I work every Black Friday as it is our busy season at work! So here I am the day after, I sampled (and I mean one bite here and there) some of the most wonderful foods yesterday. I even ventured for a bite of cheesecake YUMMY. I was satisfied beyond belief...it was all so good. I enjoyed the company of great family and friends too. We watched football, the blowouts that ensued was just incredible, all called except for my Eagles, who i think stunned the Cardinals all the way back to Arizona. It was a sweet victory, but shall I say quite a few weeks too late for any good to come of it!
I bowled with my youngest yesterday a.m. in the annual Turkey Bowling Tournament.while I just did so so he did incredible...220, 194 and a 243. At 14 I'd say he's quite on his way to being a very, very good bowler!!
My other son was home, he did disappear with gf and his father for some early morning mania known as Black Friday shopping, but he'll be home by noon and snoozing away when I get home from work later today!!
I have a wedding downstate tomorrow...maybe a christmas party with the guy, but we are falling apart so I'm not even sure he wants me to go anymore? Hmm I guess I'll have to find out today...
I did manage to put up the tree and the lights are on, a few outside decorations were put out yesterday but that is it so far!!
So I need to get busy, not that traffic will be heavy but I do need to be ontime!! Enjoy

It's friday
Yeah, it has been a very, very long week for me. Work has had me in a loop plus a two day migraine...yikes. I finally feel a wee bit better today! And low and behold it's the weekend. Tonight my guy is coming up after work. I will have approx. 1 hour to straighten up my house because, NO I haven't done anything all week! Laaaazzzzeeeee!!! lol
I am in a mood to dress today too, not sure where that is coming from but ok I'll go with it! I have my new Steve Madden's to wear so I'm suspecting that might be it! :)
We had rain all week, today we get a little sun, tomorrow, ok right you guessed it, RAIN! I have had it with the rain!
Boys are good, youngest is choosing his high school, he's a little torn but will make the right decision I'm sure. He's getting ready to start his guitar lessons too.
Oh ex news, he'll be up around 12/15 to collect his crap out of my garage for the move back down....yes it's finally going to be permanent...Christmas had come early to me this year with this news!!
I believe I am finally able to try exercise again since it's been the required 4 weeks post op...will try again next week and see how that pans out...I want to but my body wasn't ready a few weeks back :(

Long weekends and such.............
Well here we are the long holiday weekend and I have no plans. Nothing, nada, zip, zilch. I can't believe it. Tomorrow my oldest son and I have to pickup his books for college and we are going to work out....cleaning, laundry, what an exciting weekend I have lined up huh! NOT...
I almost feel out of sorts, the summer is ending (unofficially) and well I'm just starting again to get those feelings of the changes yet to come soon. The sun is shining less, the days are growing shorter. I truly love fall and all the colors and changes with the weather, but in a cliche I hate it too, because of the shorter days and the colder weather that is coming afterward. I really hate winter. I can't stand it!
I am down in weight, a few days with fresh fruits and lots of veggies, good eating and theweight is right back off. I have to say I love my surgery for this reason. As soon as I get a little out of control, I reign it in, eat sensibly again and of course the ongoing exercise and well i'm right back where I need to be.
I am hoping to meet a good personal trainer also when we go to the gym. I would love to spend some quality time with a personal trainer to help me target specific areas on myself so that I can improve my overall self. I am also starting on the 8th of Sept my yoga classes. A whole month of some pretty intensive learning. I will be going three times a week until the first week of Oct. Then I will continue with regular classes until Mar or Apr and then onto the teachers certification.
That should be enough to keep me busy, preoccupied with what is going on around me and i hope to change the way I feel about the seasonal changes that I dread year in and year out. I really need to work on moving to a warmer climate!
Hope you all have a happy Labor Day weekend, enjoy your time off!

Where have I been????
Long time gone again...I've been busy and I've made alot of strides along the way in therapy.
So where do I begin, well school starts next week for ds2, 8th grade. Lots of great things coming his way this year. Last year of middle school and we are trying to get him into his brother's high school (no easy feat I may say). DS1 starts college on the 3rd of Sept. I still can't believe I have a college student for a son!!
Therapy for me has been great, the x moved to FL about 3 weeks ago, currently I believe he is stuck in the middle of this hurricane....worse things could be happening in my life there. My new guy, K and I are doing great, slow but spending more and more time together. We are supposed to go on a boat ride down the Hudson Saturday then to see the man made waterfalls under the NYC bridges then back up, dinner overlooking the NYC skyline at sunset and well the rest will be history. It will be a great day if he can get off work....argh Did I tell you his right hand man screwed up yesterday and didn't show up for work, didn't call and now he's banned from OT the next two weekends. If this screws up our plans, well I'm not going to be a happy camper!
Work is busy, I'm finally getting help. We are interviewing now!! Yippee...I can't wait for this to happen to as it couldn't have come at a worse time for me as I'm almost in the middle of my busy season.
So life is moving along, it's almost the end of August, good god where did the summer go?
My life is great, I'm so happy, I've found myself, who I am, what I love and someone to share alot of it with right now. I couldn't be happier with myself even if I tried.
On the WLS front, I am approaching my 2 years mark, my weight is steady, my muscles are growing, I'm more active in my exercise thanks to my guy, he loves to exercise and I love that he urges me to be a better person in that sense. I've been walking 5 miles every day for over 2 weeks now, I'm back on my balance ball, I am also doing the elliptical at work 3x a week for 30 min. All I need are more weights in my routine and I would be pretty darn well rounded. When I saw the doc a few months back he told me it's all about me, and the quality of exercise I do and how I eat from here on out. I still feel too full when I eat too much, I still have adversions to sugar and white flour and most carbs (bad ones) but that is all good and keeps me and my life in check!!
I am the happiest I have been in years, maybe in my whole life. I really know what I want, how I want to be and I'm starting to make plans for my future. I'm living outside of the 2 week box that I had limited myself to for the last year. I would never make any plans that were over 2 weeks away, in fact I usually limited any plans to a bday party or some family gathering and everything else was a whim. I have a different attitude and how I want to live my life, what I want from it and want to do during it. I have alot of time to accomplish these goals and well I can't wait to get started. The first long term plan, to get in shape to do this triathlon next summer. I have approximately 9 months left to get ready, I don't know about the running yet, my ortho doc and I are working on it, so it might be a futile attempt for me to think about it, but there is a dualathlon also, which is biking and swimming, both of which I can do. I need to dust off my bike, get the tires changed and start riding it instead of the stationary one. There is also Bike to the Bay next Oct, as I could never be ready this year. 75 miles over two days, not sure if it's 75 a day or over two but it's alot further than I could ever imagine riding by this year. So I'm making plans, I'm really involving myself in a life again and I couldn't be happier.

D-day
Ok he's leaving, in approximately 1 hour. I'm so over the moon, this has been a very strange year to say the least and the sudden unexpected departure of the stbxh to FL. I hope he finds what he wants there. I'm not sure if he's coming home or not, but it is his life and he'll chose to do whatever. DS2 is going to the beach with his friend for the next few days so that will distract him from his father leaving. I am bracing for the weeks to come when he realizes as I am that I don't think his father is coming home again.
On the WLS front, well I've been having some issues....not sure if they are surgery related or just issues. I'm having horrible pee, really smelly...sorry TMI (but if anyone has anything to add on this!!) and I'm tired. My labs came back normal so I'mnot sure what that is all about. Maybe because I'm just overextending myself all around. I haven't just relaxed in a weekend day in quite a few weeks. It seems it's all or nothing with me anymore.
On my dating front, well I've found one I truly like. We are taking things really slow, almost painfully at some points. I really like him and he I. He works alot and well has quit one job already. We are making plans for a Sat day to do something, what I don't know I just told him to surprise me. I really am enjoying the company of him as we have so many things in common and he is totally understanding (or at least trying) about me and my surgery and the things that go along with it. Those of you who have had know what I am talking about..lol
Exercise, I'm walking almost 4 miles a day. I'm doing the AHA heart walk again this Sept. I need to set up my website today, reminding me to do so.... I am also still working my balance ball, it's really a great workout, but i think I want to try and find another dvd routine to mix it up a bit...I would like to do the Bike to the Bay also next fall, it's a 75 mile one trip to the beach on a bicycle for MS. I have my bike and have been riding but not enough to do this trip, plus I'm not sure my bike would make the ride! My guy is a rider so I'll be asking him soon for some tips and see what he thinks. Who knows maybe next year we can both do the ride!
My other son is getting ready for his first day of college! I still can't believe i have a child going to college. YIKES!
Ok I need to finish getting ready for work, everyone have a great one, I'm so behind on reading everyone's blog I love....soon
